Japan's first power loom, the The first type of jacket made of heavy ounce Japanese selvedge denim made on Toyoda Automatic Loom "GL3". This jacket has a vintage look and feel with a modern silhouette and attention to detail that will make any American casual wearer proud.
This power loom, which can weave warp yarns with extremely low tension, is called the "fantastic power loom". It is the oldest loom in use in Japan and there are only a few in existence.
We have fallen in love with the unique look of the GL3 and after much effort we have succeeded in reviving it.
Texture, heft and softness
GL3's 14oz denim has a unique uneven, rough surface. The denim has an uneven surface and a rough texture that makes it look vintage.
Even though the denim is 14oz, the warp yarns are loosely woven with a very low tension, which gives the denim a very soft hand-woven look. The result is a denim that is both rugged and comfortable to wear, with the warmth of your hand.
