The TCB Working Cat Hero Jacket is TCB's contemporary interpretation of the renowned Wrangler 11MJ from the 1940s, a garment favored by cultural icons such as John Lennon. This jacket, like its predecessor, is meticulously crafted from an 11.7oz left-hand twill denim, a departure from the right-hand twill used by Levi's and Lee during that era.
The left-hand twill fabric imparts a distinct character to the jacket, with a softer texture and a more open weave. This unique denim quality results in a slightly blurry fading pattern over time, setting it apart from the sharper fades associated with right-hand twill. TCB has opted for a semi-sanforization process for the denim, a decision informed by their research revealing the strong leg twist characteristic found in vintage unsanforized Wranglers from the 1940s-50s.
TCB's commitment to heritage craftsmanship is evident in every detail, making the Working Cat Hero Jacket a timeless piece that echoes the legendary style of a bygone era.
Despite being a Japanese reproduction, we find the sizing of this jacket to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). Anyway, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. This jacket is semi-sanforized but have been pre-washed, so there will be no further shrinkage.
TCB (which stands for Two Cats Brand or Taking Care of Business) is a Japanese label founded in Kojima by Hajime Inoue in 2012. It specializes in reproductions of the classic American denim icons produced from the 1920s to the 1960s. Among his garments, we can find some of the highest-quality reproductions we have ever seen, made in his own workshop on sewing machines more than a hundred years.
